Today was the day. The day Zada would be introduced to THE HILL.
Though not the biggest hill in Ottawa for Tobogganing but by
far the longest hill I've ever been down. That's right bigger
than Queeny Park's hill; bigger than JFK's hill.
I remember JFK's hill being so huge and fast. They don't mess around
in this city.
James was doing some work with our friend so Zada
and I decided to go to this park. James calls it the "Dog Walking Park"
I never asked I just said ok. Well I now understand. You can bring
your dog and the dog can be UNLEASHED for most of the trails.
There were dogs galore (with that came lots of yellow snow).
We had to walk about a KM to get to the hill and when
we got there even I felt butterflys in my stomach. There
was no way I was sending my baby down that
huge hill ALONE! WAIT. That meant _I_ had to go with her.
OH MY LORD. This was it. This hill had nicely packed snow
which meant we were going to FLY down this hill.
AWAY WE WENT! The air was crisp on my face and there
was a few bumps that sent us airborne. I'm not kidding folks we
caught some air! Walking back up the hill
was exciting because we knew we were going down again...
Second time down and back up.
Then the words came out.. "mom, I want to go down alone..."
Alone like, without ME...umm... SURE. I didn't want her to hear
any ounce of hesitation because this was
something every kid needs to experience in their life... "READY?"
I held my breathe the entire way down.... when she finally
stopped her tobaggon was backwards and she was laughing.
The next couple of times we both went. We bailed
once. We laughed so hard!
We tobaggoned for about an hour and finally Zada
decided she was tired. So back to the car we went! We'll definitly
be going back!!!! Next time I'll take pictures.
